Mixology Monday’s (http://mixologymonday.com/) is a monthly online cocktail party where Mixologists far and wide come together to swap recipes and present their themed drinks to an appreciative audience. This month’s theme is Punch, and is being hosted by Hobson’s Choice (http://nochoiceatall.blogspot.com/2010/03/mxmo-xlvii-punch.html)
After some deliberation, I ended up chosing something which would be as interesting without booze as with – It was likely I was going to end up drinking the whole thing myself, and it’s a rare evening where I imbibe a cup or more of Rum…
Spiced Peach Punch:
46 oz Peach Nectar (About 5 3/4 cups)
20 oz Orange Juice (2.5 cups)
2 tbsp Lime Juice
Half a cup of brown sugar
3 Cinnamon Sticks
20 cloves
(Optional – 1 cup spiced rum. I used Sailor Jerry)
Mix together in a pot and heat gently for 10 minutes, then allow to cool. Serve in a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with dried (Or fresh, if you have it) peach slice.
A relatively simple and straightforward drink – The orange juice and lime cut the sweetness of the peach nectar just right for my tastes, and the cinnamon and cloves work nicely.  Upon reflection, one could probably add nutmeg, or even maybe some garam masala powder for some extra kick. Worth a look, and works perfectly well as a non-alcoholic punch if one is so inclined.
